From the start, Daniel brought energy, creativity, and a team-first mindset. In his first year, he jumped in wherever needed—designing event apparel, assisting with logistics, and representing Smoke & Guns in media appearances. His hands-on approach quickly made him an integral part of the team.
Following an organizational shift, Daniel was asked to take on the role of Fight Coordinator, a position he accepted with humility and determination. Though new to the role, he embraced the challenge, coordinating matchups, managing fighter communications, and helping shape the overall experience for participants and fans alike.
His leadership was tested during the pandemic, when events were postponed, and again during a military deployment, where he managed fight coordination remotely across time zones and training schedules. Despite the obstacles, Daniel remained committed—making early morning calls from overseas, rallying his team, and ensuring the show went on.
One of his proudest moments came while watching a live broadcast of the event from a barracks projector, surrounded by fellow soldiers. A shoutout from the announcer brought a wave of emotion, reminding him of the impact of his work and the strength of the community behind it.
Daniel’s efforts have helped elevate Smoke & Guns year after year, including the introduction of the event’s first-ever Patriot Fight, featuring active-duty service members. His passion for service, both in uniform and behind the scenes, continues to drive the mission forward.
None of this would be possible, Daniel says, without the unwavering support of his wife Erin and their family, whose sacrifices make his work with Smoke & Guns possible. For Daniel, it’s more than just a show—it’s a legacy of camaraderie, service, and giving back.
